Is Wikipedia a reliable resource?

Until now I have never thought of this question. I use this free encyclopedia very often, for me first of all it is a comfortable source of information, here I can find deffinitions, and everything I need. Also this source is built very smart, for example if I look for Honda it will show me the links to the pages of different models of Honda. Today I have found out that we can not actually trust Wikipedia on 100% and now I will explain why. If you will get on the main page of this source you will see “Welcome to Wikipedia the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit. Now how can we trust this source? I ussually do, when I need something really fast, but I am sure that I will never use this source for serious projects and research. More over nowadays majority of teachers, and professors prohibit their students to use this source as a reference in their papers. So I can conclude that this source is very comfortable to use, but not 100% reliable.

Discussing Dauren’s Project Site

Why I chose this particular Project Site? In my opinion it is one of the most interesting topics for people to see. What Dauren is trying to do is to describe how the money can be earned on the internet. He does not have a lot of posts, however all of the posts are very interesting. The good thing about this blog is that Dauren not only describes that we can earn money online, but how to do that. He has several links, on the sites, where we can earn money. I liked the site very much, and I am sure that I will be visiting it often.

Baristanet: “How does this site promote community and what is that community like?”

Baristanet This site is created for both journalists and simple people. The journalists who created the site and edit the site make it interesting for readers. As readers are interested in some news, or events they can go to forum and discuss the news there. Which makes the site the real community.

There are no special rules for participation in this community, because readers are the community.

I have found out that there are co-owners of this site Debbie Galant and Liz George, also they are editors. There is a daily editor, whose name is Annette Batson.

Baristanet provides the information to the readers, and readers at the same time create conversation, and different types of ideas on the particular topic.

All in all this site is a great example of journalism site and site for blogging and discussions.

Akina’s Community

I went to Akina’s blog to find out about the community she attended. I found out that she used to write for KIMEP Times. She was excited by the fact of interviewing interesting people. As she says she is very glad that she did the thing she likes, and there are always people who are able to help her with anything.

That is a good example of the community.

There are so many communities all over the world. Each community have some values, beleives, and interests.

I am a part of many communities for instance KIMEP. Also the I am a part of community for night people, who live at night. We all met on the forum night.kz. Where we discuss different parties, comming up events, and events that past. All of us know each othere and we meet in the night clubs, or some where else.

I am happy to be a part of that community.

What is journalism?

For me journalism is information first of all. The goal of journalism is to provide information as fast as they can to the people. There are so many TV channels, and Internet resources dedicated to news. Journalism helps as to be up to time, no matter in what part of the the world we are. So the Journalism is actrually is responsible for the development of the World.

My online beat

There are so many topics for chosing the online beat. The variety of information is very large. I am going to put my attention to the topic which is connected to music, rock-alternative music, and specifically to the rock-alternative band which is called Linkin Park (LP). Why I decided to focus on this band? This band is one of a kind, because its lyrics is real deep, and very interesting, ussually this type of bands do not have a good lyrics, only music.

Linkin Park is known all over the world, its official web site is www.linkinpark.com, also there are many fun clubs of this bands all over the world. I have been to their concert and it was wounderful. 

Do you find that the internet is a good source of news for you?

First of all Internet is the largest source of information in the world. For me it’s the most popular source. In our busy time it is easier to look for news on the internet, also we can go back and look for news which were published two years ago or so. We can not do that with tv, or radio, because of this facts Internet is the best source of information for me.
